Remember to Play
When you hear the words, "remember to play" what comes up for you?
Did you just roll your eyes and keep working/scrolling?
What might life feel like if you made more time to create joy for yourself?
Play is an important part of life, and yet it's easy to push aside and shove to the bottom of the list. Here are things I've thought in the past about the idea of play.
"I barely have time to make and eat food let alone seek out fun."
"Once this project is over, I'll have more time..."
"I'd love to join you, but I'm exhausted it's been a long day/week"
When I look back on this time in my life, I barely remember anything that was happening around me. Even when I did make time for fun I couldn't fully enjoy myself because I felt too much guilt for not being "done" with the "important things" first.
This is a reminder:
YOUR LIFE IS IMPORTANT TOO.
in fact...
YOU ARE IMPORTANT.
Play can look like anything that puts a smile on your face.
π Dance like no one is watching alone in your apartment.
π Go feel the joy of swinging and touching the sky with your toes.
πΎ Play fetch with your Doggo.
βΉοΈββοΈ Get out and join a local sport team.
π Bust out the costumes and play with your kid(s).
π¦ Jump in a mud puddle and see how high it splashes.
πΈ Head into a wax museum and pose with the starsπ
